Causes

I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again. ~William Penn

Need some inspiration? I always feel more fulfilled whenever I discover a worthy cause, especially if it is a cause that feels important to me. On this page I will share some that inspire me (and will keep looking out for more).

Buy Fairtrade
Buying Fairtrade is a great way to ensure better lives for farmers of products such as cocoa, coffee, and bananas (and more). http://www.fairtrade.net/

Amity Foundation
We were sent to China by the Church of Sweden (Svenska kyrkan) to support Amity Foundation, a Chinese nonprofit started by Chinese Christians. We spent three years there. Amity does a lot of great work within China (along with English teaching programs). Read more here: http://www.amityfoundation.org/

Three Cups of Tea
First, read the book Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace…One School At A Time, #1 New York Times Bestseller Book by Greg Mortenson: www.threecupsoftea.com This great book highlights the beginnings of the work that the Central Asia Institute does, namely: "To empower communities of Central Asia through literacy and education, especially for girls, promote peace through eduction..." http://www.ikat.org/

Become a Donor
I recently signed up to become a Bone Marrow Donor, after feeling moved by the story of a sick little child in Sweden. (Read about that under "Press"). In Sweden, people can learn more about how to help save lives through Tobiasregistret. (Their web page is also in English). http://www.tobiasregistret.se/

Recycle!
Recycling is a privilege that we need to take advantage of in order to care for our environment and set a good example for our children. There are many reasons to recycle, as I address here.
